    Default Poker is Simple

Hold'em is a simple game . Here it is nothing complicated. If it is not a pair and less than 10 fold ! add A suited and suited connectors to the mix. Remember poker is simple. the rest is called gambling ,everyone is over thinking this game.

I expected a more analytical, mathematical debate. Provide evidence poker is not simple. The only ones making poker complicated are the ones writing the books on poker. If you cannot provide evidence to substain why poker is complicated, analytical, and mathematical. Then this proves my point. Poker is simple.

    provide evidence you aren't retarded.

If you cannot, then you must be.

dozer, your analysis of playable starting hands and its relation to the simplicity of poker is comical. tell me, since it's so simple, how did you take the chips away from all of the seasoned pros at the main event? i'm dying to find out how to finally dominate this easy, easy game.

Very intelligent reply, to provide evidence that the game is as complicated as they would have you believe. It is a game not a mathematical equation. I have played poker since I was a young man in the Korean war. When you hold a poker hand with dried blood on it, then you can tell me how to play the game. otherwise shut the fck up. I have seen more poker hands the you have scratched your ass or picked your nose. Prove me wrong and explain, why the game is not simple, they want you to believe the game is hard and out of your grasp. It is to their advantage. This site is boring. Adios.

Because I like this type of silly debate.

Dozer60 is right that poker is a simple game in its play, however it is the other part of the game which makes it hard. There is plenty of mathematical theory to which hands should be played and which shouldn't.

Let us assume that Dozer60 plays hands in exactly the fashion he states, if we know those are the only hands he plays, we can use that information to make correct raises and plays against him.

We can give him % of times certain hands will come up and bet profitably based on expected value return.

Let's say Dozer60 says I don't use math, I play by table feel.

    We can then ask him,

    1) Why did you bet?

Let's say he playing at a home game and says because the only one left twitches when he is holding a marginal hand. If you want, we can convert this to a mathematical equation of %100 of the time my hand is better than his. Or most of the time, he has a hand better than mine.

    2) Why did you fold?

Once again the same tell or the person to his left only plays pocket pairs JJ-AA. Once again, it can be converted into a range.

    3) Why did you call?

There is a lot of money in the pot. This is the quick and dirty, I have pot odds.

    3) Why did you raise?
    Similar to above

The point being is that even if you do not formally lay out plays as mathematical equations , giving ranges of hands they could have, math is still implied.

Everyone tries to make a move which is +EV or they would be losing money, so how do you analyze if your move was +EV?

And as for his line about gambling,
if it is just gambling, how come the really good players tend to place higher consistently compared to all others.

In tournaments with no rebuys, there is a bigger luck factor because lets say you are a 98%-2% favorite and you are all-in.

It means you will still lose 2% of the time. And unlike a cash game where it will always be profitable and you can reload and hopes he does the same thing again and again, your tournament life is over.

    www.vietkong.poker.com/blood4money.html

They offer a a match bonus of up to 3.8 billion however you have to cut off a finger for each 10 you withdraw.

The clear rate isnt bad though they have "Charlie Comps" or CC's for short. You get 1 for every time your checkraised, (charlies layin in the weeds) 10 per 10 dollars cleared.

They offer rakeback but its payed in vietnimise orphans. Shipping not included

No wonder you survived the war if all you did was play cards.

I won't tell you how to play the game because I currently have no blood tainted cards in my hand, but I will give you a tip:

    Don't eat yellow snow
This is not my signature. I just write this at the bottom of every post.

If poker is a simple game, why is your experience even relevant.
The fact that all the best players in the world use complex theory, and that most of the posters here are consistant winning players should be proof enough that poker is not simple.

If you truly believe poker is a simple game, play Phil Ivey heads up on full tilt....?
