    Default Double barrel gone right

I've only been here for about 5-10 minutes. Villain is totally unknown. Haven't noticed him in any pots yet.

What is my optimal river play? Call, raise x amount, raise all-in?

Hmm. I don't like a river check because often he may be holding a mid PP here and is happy to just see a showdown. I lead for $50.

    *Edit* I don't see a point in re-raising.

i think raising here is spew. you can't rule out A5,A6,A7. 56,67 beat you. 45 or 78 you beat one of those, and the other is folding to the river raise.

i don't see what hand you beat would call, even overpairs 99-KK would be wary to call a raise.

i think this is a terrible spot to double barrel

id bet/fold 35 on river as played (close to C/F tho)

    Galap,

Ewwww. This kind of flop is way more likely to hit a limper's range than a raiser's range. I'd be very surprised if he ever folds a better hand on the flop. Just check. Definitely don't double barrel. River is a check-call cuz at this point you're just hoping he bluffs a busted draw.

This is the wrong board to double barrel. As played I call though.

Is this a bad board to double barrell because the hands that call the flop are not folding the turn?

Ash- its bad because a limp/calling range looks kinda like:

22-99, 45s-QJs, Axs, suited gappers and maybe some unsuited connectors maybe like KQ QJo

so a cbet isnt so bad cause quite a few of those hands are going to fold on the flop- but clearly A LOT of that range is helped or at least not hurt on the turn and we are ahead of only a couple hands he calls the flop with- A8 is the only real one which comes to mind.
