First what we want to look at is his raise pre. He's limped twice so we kind of doubt hes that good, and he has flat raised it to $20 with no limpers in the CO. Normally I interpret this as two things.
1. He has a vunerable hand like JJ-88, AK/AQ/AJ
2. He has a super strong hand. AA-QQ, AK (depends on how dumb)

That being said you have to raise, you have the 4th best hand in poker, which you do to a fine size.
He doesn't think much and calls (I observed this hand).

So the second thing to think about is his call. We don't know the opponent, so we have to say sometimes, at least once in awhile, this opponent would 4bet AA-QQ, and maybe AK. We assume this because some opponents do, and our opponent is "some" opponent.

So lets say he4bets AA-QQ 33% of the time, and AK 25%. Seems reasonable to me.

On the flop you should really bet more. but you don't which is alright.

His raise size is extremely strange.

It's so donkish though, it says made flush which is unluckily, and AA-QQ is sometimes fourbet here that a shove seems standard.

I'd call preflop too, you have position and no reads/stats vs the guy. Raising is fine too though, but I think I call more often than I raise here vs unknown.

Can't blame you for felting this flop, can't think of better lines..calling his raise and shoving any turn won't be any good (stack sizes), and I dont see myself folding here either.

YES you have the 4th best hand in poker, but unless you hit your set you'll be seeing the flop in a re-raised pot with likely overcards and, even if they're all under, you have to be prepared to deal with a bet or a check/raise from villain.

He could have anything here - you're probably good half the time on that flop, maybe more. But re-raising PF means that unless he's uber-weak, you're either going to have to fold yourself or you're left playing for stacks with a marginal one-pair hand. If you just call, then you can use your position and post-flop skills to actually play some poker.

How often is he going to have QQ KK or AA on the flop? Those are the only hand we can laydown to.

(Slightly oversized pre-flop raise from weak CO is often AK, KK & AA pretty unlikely - & he didn't 4bet despite his initial 'aggressive' raise- Check raise on flop looks like AK with one heart as well.)

I like the call PF because I don't really like to play giant pots with JJ, the "4th best" hold 'em hand. I usually like to re-raise flops with JJ, and once you've bumped the pot to about 15% of your stack its going to be an expensive re-raise. If villain luckboxes something, we're going to be in trouble with a lot of our stack already in there.

Not that this applies to this situation but this is probably a leak if your doing it versus most players without a 7%- PFR.

calling jacks is part of the laggy strategy I used to employ when I played 38/23ish
(since I'd cold-call a huge % preflop I'd include PP's from say 77-QQ in my cold call range vs decent players, although I'd 3 bet them prob around 30% of the time.

I've decided to pretend that the past 3 months of playing more "standard" poker didn't really happen and go back to my laggier ways when I play seriously again.
