Hand 1 (QQ) - slap! Your preflop raise is WAY too small. You should be raising 3x BB plus 1x BB for each limper, so I'd make it like 600 to go preflop. Postflop is obv fine.

Hand 2 (A2s) - seems OK. BTW stack sizes did not come out.

Hand 3 (KTo) - preflop is OK, I'm 50/50 between raising and dumping this when folded to in the CO. On the flop, I don't c-bet this from OOP against two opps when the ace flops, I just check/fold.

Hand 4 - (Q8o) - with your stack size at <20x BB, don't even bother with this, particularly, as you say, with the big stack in the BB.

Hand 5 (Q8o) - I think you can find a better spot than this, particularly with the limper in front. You're short, but you've got a few hands before the blinds hit you again, I fold this.

Last hand (AQs) - I don't call the UTG+1 raise with AQs, it can have really bad reverse implied odds. As played, I think getting it AI with 2 pair top kicker is fine.

Hmm... is this a rough guideline I'm unfamiliar with... don't steal blinds if you're under 20BB? I agree trying to rob the big stack is bad here, but is there some other advice I'm missing?

I'll steal in that position, IF I feel I'm likely to get away with it. If every chip you earn is worth less than the chips you lose, then risking 150 chips to win 75 only makes sense if you need chips, or if you think its very low risk.
Just dipping my toes back in.

    Grats!

Hand 2: You hit your nut flush, bet it! I raise that turn for sure. You want to get all your chips in here, the way to do that is to bet enough on the turn, that a push on the river makes sense. Pots what, 280? Raise to at least 200, maybe even like 240. If he calls that, the pot is 6-700, meaning you can easily bet 500 on the river, and hope he pushes over.

Hand 3: I like this call because theres so many limpers. Lots of dead money in the pot = great pot odds.

Hand 4: A bit more borderline on this one, but again with multi-limpers you have nice pot odds. Just remember you need to hit the flop very well to continue, TP isnt good enough. Played to perfection on the flop. AI on a gutshot? Man, what a donkey.

Hand 6: No reason to steal here.

    5Heart 5Diamond CO (M = 45.17; f+f+f+f+F) - Limp it!

Hand 7: C-bet this flop, then check/fold it down.

    Hand 9: Check this down.

Hand 14: Borderline on the PF raise, but nice play on Flop. F'ng donkey.

    Nice game.

Yeah, good advice. I certainly would have made more, he had the king.

Hand 6: No reason to steal here.
You're probably right, but I figured being the big stack I wanted to see how tight they were. I've adapted the mantra that I should always try to steal once at the first opportunity to see how it vulnerably the blinds will be...

I guess I have "don't limp when the blinds past 50" I forget when I can afford to take a chance.

Hand 7: C-bet this flop, then check/fold it down.
Not sure, I think that's a terrible flop to c-bet vs. a loose donk who's pissed away his stack calling. In this case though probably better to c-bet the flop and check/fold the turn unimproved than wait for the turn to take a stab he wont believe either.

    Hand 9: Check this down.
Noted. Figured it might be worth a stab.

Hand 14: Borderline on the PF raise, but nice play on Flop. F'ng donkey.
Yeah, this is only because I'm the big stack and want to see what kind of respect I get. Most of the time this is a fold.

Thanks for all your comments Bjsaust! I appreciate you taking the time to respond to just about every thread and find your comments quiet valuable as a peer (I'm secretly hoping to keep up with you. even though you seem to play 2x as many SnG's as I can per week).

True, I do the same myself sometimes. I dont mind that reasoning here.

Looks like blinds are still 50 here? In that case you still have implied odds. Even with blinds of 100 you do as long as you're likely to be playing against 1500+ stacks and you think theres a good chance of being allowed to limp in.

I disagree. See, whenever you raise PF, one of your possible holdings is a PP. Villian is always worried on a flop like this that you either hit a set, or more likely have an overpair. Without a made hand, its very difficult for them to call a c-bet here.

Its tempting, but at the end of the day, remember all you have is bottom pair. You're happy if you can check all the way to showdown and pick up the pot. Perhaps call a small bet on river if you think he's stealing.

I need to do more work and less thread responding through the day :P.

I'm only errm, about $20 in the profit from my deposits, and about $70 profit from my SnG career (not counting the bonus I just cleared). I find reviewing threads to be a great way to learn, as I have the time to stop and think about what I would do in that situation. Its like free practise . It also means if I post something and one of the more experienced guys disagrees with me, I can learn from that and ask them to explain their reasoning if need be, instead of just learning by rote from their responses.

    1. I agree that the pre-flop raise should be larger, but I think you kind of want to encourage *a little* action w/QQ, and it seems to me that making it 600 to go pre-flop would discourage any callers. Is a ~400 raise out of the question? Postflop is fine.

    2. Looks like you had the odds to call both pre flop and flop.

    3. A steal attempt isn't bad, but I wouldn't try a CB into 3 people IMIO, even if an A hit and you want to represent it.

    4. I mostly fold that pre-flop.

    5. I would probably pushover too, especially if this is one of your first pushes of the game. I think opps. will give you credit.

    6. Most of the time I lay down AQ to a prior raise, for reasons just like this--I don't know how strong I can play them post-flop. Opp. checking the flop is curious, and sometimes means a monster, but the only possible monster he could have is QQ, which is very unlikely--or A9, T9, or 89. 99 would probably just minraise you if anything. I don't see too many people c/r w/AA or KK. I think I agree with others that felting this hand is fine.

Hmm... is this a rough guideline I'm unfamiliar with... don't steal blinds if you're under 20BB? I agree trying to rob the big stack is bad here, but is there some other advice I'm missing?
For me once my stack gets to 20x BB I'm usually looking to save my chips for a spot to push since I'll be in that zone when blinds go up. That said, I noticed this is a normal rather than a turbo so I guess stealing here is OK. Point still stands about the big stack being in the BB though.
