I guess not many others are going to make a trip report so I'll do my best...A few of the nights might be off. I missed out on some of the things the guys did during the day because I'm a huge nit and don't have the taste for sushi and/or expensive meals. That just goes with being married and being a life-BR nit I guess.


Wednesday -- Met up with everyone, played a little bit of poker at Ceaser's. Gabe got into town and we met up with him...The rest of the night is a mystery to me right now. I'm pretty sure we didn't play poker and just went out and drank and stuff. Can't remember what we did really or where we went. I'm in the same boat as Trikflow, too much drinking in too short of a time to really connect all the dots right now...

Thursday -- Hung out during the day, I played a little bit of poker...That night we went to a meeting at this special club inside of Mandalay Bay. It had it's own freaking elevator to get to the room we were in. There was a strict dress code and five of the guys wore tennis-shoes (I posted a pic), and only after "Moses parted the waters" (snap LOL) were they able to get in. After the meeting we went to this bar and had some beers in the top of the Mandalay Bay. That's where my blurry picture comes from. Let me tell you the view I witnessed was one of the most awesome sights I'll ever see, a view of the entire strip at night. Incredible. After we got home I played some hella-drunk NL200 which wasn't too smart, but I'm a nit so I can get away with it. Lost a 300bb pot (all in preflop) with AA vs. somebody's KK. Two hands later I was busto as I pushed my AK vs. somebody's JJ. Time for bed!

Friday -- Went to watch the UFC fights with everyone which was pretty sweet. After that I hung out with Boost and his ex-girlfriend. I think I annoyed the piss out of his ex-girlfriend because I was being pretty ridiculous and trying to get them both to drink a lot so they'd stay an extra day (they were driving back to California that night). To no avail. Ohh yeah that was the night we broke in on Sauce, Gabe, and Trikflow having an orgy (err, sleeping). They were pretty pissed but got up to party with all of us anyway. Somehow I get too drunk and pass out in the room (go figure lol).

Saturday -- The ballin' night, we went out to some nice ass resturant and the admins of FTR hooked everyone up with drinks and dinner. Had an awesome time hanging with everyone. Then we went to the stretch Hummer limo and had more drinks, then we went to the Spearmint Rhino. Lukie talked me into leaving the Rhino early with him, we met some guy that he knew from Aruba and then EmpireMaker2 walked up and we chilled with them for about ten minutes and headed out to the Flamingo. Lukie goes to have relations with some girl while I go directly to NL200. After nitting it up for a while I hit a ridiculous hand. UTG raises to $15 and gets six callers, I flop a set, UTG bets $20 (wtf?) gets a caller then to me on button with a set, I make it $110 (I have $100 behind or so), dude in SB behind me pushes and it folds to me and I insta-call. He has a 9-high flush draw and spikes his flush on the river. Dude looked like Jeff Garcia (it wasn't) and was a pretty cool dude...I then spewed off the rest of my chips next hand when my OESD ran into two pair (it was only like $50), ohh wells. I am now busto for my trip besides the money everyone gave me for putting dinner on my credit card a few nights before...

Sunday -- We sleep for a looonnnggg time. We wake up and Sauce, Gabe, Trikflow and I rent Reno: 911 The movie and watch that in the hotel. Pretty good flick to watch all hungover. Sunday night is the FTR Home Game which Lukie bitched out of (THAT BITCH!). I did okay coming away as the 2nd or 3rd highest winner. That speaks nothing of my play being good or anything, I just nitted it up and hit a few good hands against other people's 2nd best hands or other people spewing...

One of the classic moments from the FTR Home Game was when we were betting on if we could throw a pen from across the room and make it land on a table (you had to be there but it was awesome). Gabe was throwing out 1-to-1 odds at first, then 2-to-1, then 4-to-1 and probably lost $100 doing that. Next thing we know everyone is doing it and everyone will give the winner $5 to the first guy to do it. It takes us forever but it's finally done, probably 75+ throws to make it happen in all. It was a classic moment made even more classic by Jon Kwon's face as he walked in (he went to get room service or beer or something). He walked in and he sees us all going crazy trying to throw this pen on a table. His face was such a "WTF" face if there ever was one, the same face anyone would have given....he got into the game as well after he figured out what we were doing and gave his best effort. Trikflow77 won the prize as he got it to stay on the table...

Sunday was fucking weird, I was just in a daze all day. Las Vegas, at least three or four days of hardcore Vegas (binge-drinking, no sleep, etc) and I'm just done...so that whole day was weird for me, just felt out of it. Didn't drink that night becuase my body was begging for a night off. The game ended at 6am and we went to bed...

Monday -- Wake up at 11am and we have to get the hell out of our room. I'm feeling a shit-ton better, actually feeling like my badass self again...We check out, check our bags, the guys I'm with go off for sushi and I don't do sushi so I head to one of my favorite places in Las Vegas, O'Sheay's Casino. It's right next to The Flamingo, has cheap beers, all of the casino games, a few bars, and food in the back (Subway, lame-o pizza, and Burger King). I grab a bite to eat and head to the poker tables and lose the rest of my Las Vegas BR (whoops!) getting it all in with TPTK vs. a set.....Sauce was sitting next to me by that point and he knew it was a fold, I knew it was a fold, but I was like fuck it last hand hopefully I win, either way I'm leaving...

After that I go to the airport, fly into KC and my fucking bags aren't on our plane...Apparently they put them on a previous Las Vegas flight that was delayed and arrived after our flight. My bags show up and I'm off to home to get some sleep (finally).


All in all it was great. I may have switched a day or two around up there but that's how I remember it. Thanks to all of the FTR members that made it out, and a HUGE thanks to Tyson, Eric, and Jon Kwon for making the trip out AND hooking us up big time on a few of the nights.

Can't wait for next year!

TY for the info, will go there next time I'm in Vegas. Do you rock climb at all? There were some sweet looking cliffs in Red Rock and it looks like there are some great ones in Fire Valley too. I would've much rather climbed that than just hiked but I was by myself and my hands were too sweaty from the heat to hold onto the rock anyway.

I don't do any rope stuff, but I'm always down to climb moderate sized boulders that don't look too scary I have seen people there doing the 'real deal' before, so I know it's done there.

The colors of the rocks there are the reallllly rediculous part there. It's really weird, the pics posted on websites of FV are really lacking in variety, and missing some of the purpleish rocks. I tripped last time I was @FV, it was absolutely fantastic. Highlight of my Vegas trip. I was sad the next time I went to Vegas that I just did the booz+chix thing instead of making it to nature.

Why didn't you guys play higher stakes, is 2-5 the highest they spread at Flamingo, I know they spread higher at Caesars.

$500 buy-in is the highest they have at The Flamingo, which has a very small poker room. They often don't even have $2/$5 NL.

I think Ben (sauce) bought in twice at $500 each. Juicing the game were a couple of Danish guys that bought in a few times, another guy busting and reloading several times, a guy with a roll of $10k or so rebuying endlessly because he developed a personal vendetta against the big fish at the table, Mohamed (that's his name; seated between Ben and gabe), who was earlier on also rebuying a few times.

When the Danish guys brought their hyper-aggro pre-flop game to the table, it had become a crazy pre-flop betting contest for a while with the aforementioned LAggs seeing every flop, often with someone pushing PF and getting called around with the silliest of hands.

Ben was fortunate enough to catch some real hands while this craziness was going on. And of course, his play was solid as well.

With all that money in this game and half the table with stacks over $3000 at one point, the poker room manager there said this was the biggest game he'd seen in that poker room in the 8 years of working at The Flamingo.

Only thing that is bad about the flamingo is that they only spread 2-5, and that game doesnt run very often. For me though it was great, 1-2 with 300max buyin, thats fucking amazing. Plenty of really bad fish, ect ect. If I was living in vegas playing 1-2 I would go to the flamingo to play.

haha but really me and bryce did meet her. She was strange though. Me and bryce were in line at that lil cafe that had pizza, eric walks up to us as we get to the front of the line. We ask where the mystery girl is, and he says at the back of the line. "uhh why dont you have her come up here?" He doesnt give a good answer. Then after we get our food he brings us to the back of the line and introduces us. We go sit down, eric follows, I watch her buy a salad and then quickly go off in the other direction without saying a word to eric or us. I mention this to eric, and hes gone before I can finish my sentence.

Just thought I'd say it was a great time guys! Good to meet all of you and hope to see you next year. No big report on the $1500 WSOP event that I entered. I took out Vince Burgio, old time pro bracelet winner. Then I continued on for 11 hours doing well, then not so well. Finally I was at a table with a load of pro's and had Juha Helppi to my right. Out of 2780 people, there were 345 left. 270 made the money, but I was getting to be short stacked. He slowed played me perfectly on my last hand as he said lets make it a friendly game as the flop came down KTT, giving him a full house, little to my knowledge. He checked all the way to the river as I made a stab at it and busted out.

But the trip was great, thanks to Ty, Eric, and Xianti!! Hope to see you all next year!!
