    Default HU hand for review

Villian has been raising liberally with position, this is the first time I've 3-bet him pre. I had been leading by a fair bit until a couple of hands ago I tried to call his bluff when he wasnt bluffing (he'd been pot stealing a fair bit imo) and then he hit a set v's my top pair.

How would you have played every street?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t60 (2 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Button (t3280)
    Hero (t2720)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6, 6.
Button raises to t120, Hero raises to t280, Button calls t160.

    Flop: (t560) 4, 2, 3 (2 players)
Hero bets t400, Button calls t400.

    Turn: (t1360) T (2 players)
Hero bets t660, Button calls t660.

    River: (t2680) 4 (2 players)
    Hero bets t1380 (All-In), Button calls t1380.

    Final Pot: t5440

Is this a HU tourney or what? If it is then why do you have so many chips?

Anyway, I probably play the same way on the flop and turn, but I would check the river. There is no hand that you beat that calls you, and any hand that calls will kill you.

Part 2 of a 4xHU tourney, so 3000 chips each, but blinds start at twice normal.

If villian pushes river do we fold (if we took the check approach)?

This seems bad b/c of how deep you are.

I'm also not a huge fan of 3bettng 66 here.

AND, in 3bet pot's you don't need to cbet so large sir. 325 would have been my bet on this flop.

My line would have been call PF, c/r most flops.

Normally wouldnt 3bet 66, but had been looking for a hand to 3-bet with for a while, maybe a bit overkeen.

Thanks for advice, I'll take it onboard .

Well played. The only thing I'd change would be to bet slightly more on the turn, like 800. Potting the turn is just silly because it discourages him from making a mistake by calling with a worse hand, which is what you want him to do.

Yeah, I was trying to find a line between removing odds for any draws, and extracting chips from a lower pair.

Obviously I didnt like the 4 on the river, but if I check I set him up a bluff on a silver platter. I really dont want to make that decision so I pushed. Then again, I guess if I'm prepared to get my chips in anyway, then perhaps I let him bluff and then call him? Same chips, more chance of getting extras if I'm ahead?

Or do I c/f? I dont want to, but my chances of having the best hand just went down. Whilst I'll only have 1600 chips behind, thats still nearly 30 BBs so I have room to recover.

Checking this river has to be a better play and just used as a bluff catcher.

You need to ask yourself if there are more hands he can call with or bet with on this river.

I'd agree with you if the stack sizes were different, but as played I think he'd call with more hands than he'd bet with. There's so little money left in your stacks that if you check I don't think he's going to bluff very often at all. You're just setting yourself up to get owned by hands that beat you and have him check behind A3o or whatever other crap hand he might make a hero call with.

    pushing > calling
