    Default BB/100 ratings...

What do you consider to be good, bad, and expert BB/100 ratings for 1/2 NL?

I've been running at 14 BBs/100 over the first 9000 hands that I've been using poker tracker, but my brother says that I can't possibly keep that up.

Feels like a normal run to me though.

Post your stats, so the guys can try tell if you're running superhot.
(which you are but to what extent will be interesting)
But yeah from what I gather anything above 7bb/100 or higher at 100Nl or above (over like 50 000 hand minimum) is pretty expert & you should move up a level if thats the case.

14 BB's/100 is running super super hot, that's amazing that you've maintained it over 9k hands!

The question of winrates comes up a lot, and there is tons of disagreement about it. Many feel that the solid players at 1/2 and above probably only max out at about 3BB/100, while others think 6 or even 8 is sustainable. In my opinion, i think you need about 100k hands to get an idea of your long term winrate, and even with that it still could be off.

I suggest that you just don't think about it and focus on playing well, like you've probably been doing.

After 17 consecutive winning sessions I actually had my first losing session last night and I'm down to 12.38 BB/100.

By "post your stats," do you mean a screenshot of PT?

I run at 31/16. Some people say that's real high, but it seems to me that less raises = less profit.

After about 60k hands or so I'm starting to get the feeling that winrates mean jack shit without a pretty damn big sample, although I need someone with experience to clarify that.

at 31/16 you arent really doing that much raising... your just doing a lot of limping and calling.
and yes you are running really hot. just report back after a much bigger sample size.

I think that I can just throw this question in here instead of creating a new thread.

I have a rate of just over 3BB/100. However, I,m in the red in profit. This is probably because I only have about 3k hands in PT so far, but what kind of math gives me a positive winrate, and negative profit?

if you play different stakes you can have a positive winrate in BB but negative in $$.

Thanks Harry. I did make a so-so effort in FL right before I purchased PT, and got all of those hands in my database. Although when I filter to just the NL 6max, I get the same problem and only have one level there.

BB/100 is a measure of how well you're running and how well you match up against your oppoonents. Looking at it as static is silly.

Sorry, really really slow day at work today.

So if I'm at 3bb/100, and have neg profit, then I... am better than the other players. So, I'm losing my money on just a few hands maybe?

If your BB/100 is positive but overall $ is negative, it means you've been doing better at lower limits/worse at higher limits.

I'm really not. I think that those #s are distorted bc of my high tendency to limp in the SB in an unraised pot.

    Here are my positional stats:

    BUTTON 29/22
    1 28/21
    2 23/18
    3 22/17
    BB 19/9
    SB 56/18

I limp often from the SB bc I can usually steal vs the BB on the flop, or win a huge pot if I flop big.

    What do you think?

You don't raise enough and you open limp from UTG . I play around 18/13 and raise 26% of my hands on the button and play 13/13 utg.
