Played in a weekly local tournament at a club recently (twice), which is a £5 + (Rebuy within the first hour), on average around 30 people enter with the top 5 gettin paid.
my question is, whilst i know i am a good player, better than some people that seem to do well, i struggle early on. the key seems to be to get a large amount of chips early on through getting lucky. when i dont get that luck i struggle to get as far as i should. even though i have made the final table both times, i always have a small stack in comparison to the blinds, and so am left to push with mediocre hands.
is there anything i can do to get chips early doors without just pushing with any two cards????
Another problem is that i seem to be playing more loosely within the first hour, and end up making plays that i know i shouldnt. is this ok in an effort to grab chips or should i stick to a tighter image??????
