Default Found myself in a 109 rebuy and no plan

I just played a random hyper turbo all-in fest satellite to blow off some steam and ended up qualifying for a 109 rebuy.
However ladbrokes is annyoing and has made me play the tournament,

With no way for me to actually rebuy or add on due to obvious bankroll constraints, is it still fine to play this as a freezeout?

I have no other option so thats what I'm currently doing but it's made me wonder if anyone plays rebuys in this way purposefully. Thinking about it, with maniacs trying to build a huge stack, surely if you pick up the odd hand or two you can make it fairly deep.

Flaws are easy to spot - without risking to get a big stack as usual rebuy strategy would have you do, you're far less likely to be a threat to reach the final table.

    Opinions?

And some good luck to try and take this down plus its huge $15000 overlay would be appreciated haha.

Add-on anyway if you make it to the break. I know it's out of your bankroll but it's too +EV not to. Take it as a lesson not to play satellites for tourneys you're not rolled for. GL.

Oh don't worry I don't make a habit of this.
I entered the all-in or fold tourney just for laughs and thought I could take the money if I did get in.

    Then I couldn't

Don't think I need the add-on now, just somehow pushed my original 2000 chips to 16500. Still 30 mins of rebuy to go.

Surely it isn't + ev to take the add-on with this stack and a small bankroll?

The fact that the add-on is worth more chips than the original buyin means that you're basically getting $140 or $150 worth of chips for your $100. 16K chips is a lot for the rebuy period but it'll be nothing by the third hour so you should still add on.

to answer your original question, go back and figure out what your stack would have been if you had re bought. Some pots may have played differently, but by and large you're just starting behind.

The add on is +EV, but that has nothing to do with your bankroll.

Didn't take the add-on, just couldn't let myself put $100 on the table.

Still going good, and competition seems soft for what I consider a high buy-in rebuy. Also, I really love the structure here, quite lengthy blinds so it gives a bit of breathing room.

Noticed that most of the players must have satellited in as I only saw about 6 players over 3 tables rebuying and only the same few added on. Obviously these guys are rolled for it but I am generally surprised by the difference in strategy between this level and lower levels rebuys.

No one really went maniac during the first hour.
    Seems odd.

Knocked out just after the bubble so my $10 satellite was turned into $386.
    Not bad.

Horribly disappointed not to take home 1st for $11703 considering the hand that destroyed me.

I have above average chip stack with 19 left (20 paid). Player in CO raises 3xBB and I'm in SB with pocket kings, push in only to get called by a8.
Boom, down to 755 chips and no hope.

Oh well, that was an experience, and no more satellites for me in the near future.

    congrats on the deep finish.

If you search my name and rebuys you'll find an old thread where I tried to defend your approach... I was flat out wrong.

If you had rebought and added on your stack would have been big enough to withstand that bad beat and you could have kept chugging on.

I think it's really OK not to rebuy at the beginning if you're playing over your head and out of your bankroll. The reason we double rebuy is that we think we're better than the field and we'll be able to turn those chips into more chips. Not adding on is just crazy though, you get so many chips for the price. It's probable that you cost yourself more than $100 by not adding on.

If I somehow found myself in a 500 rebuy against a very tough field I wouldn't rebuy but I would add on.

Yeah I certainly see what you mean about adding on.
The extra leverage against the shorter stacks would have been lovely.

Oh well, I'm happy with my performance at least, and I think i'm going to try and take down a 3 rebuy or two.

Well played dude - just don't do it again! Fwiw I'd not have rebought or added on, either, and treated it as a freeroll. Chard is right EV wise but the marginal value of an extra $200 to you is just too much for it to make sense here.

Sounds like if $100 is a lot to you and you found the competition to still be soft in a larger buy in event, sateliting is not exactly something you should cut out. Given, play for freezeouts.

    Nice work
