    Default fold or shove?

which will happen more often in this situation:
    1) pay off AK, 77, 22?
    2) be doubling up through KJ etc.?

by the way this is a $1 SnG. my gut told me to fold. just curious what you would do.

Fold this preflop. As played, easy shove. You got about as good a flop as you can get with KQ. If he has a set, so be it theres nothing you can do. You cant be scared of a set tho when you only have 12BB with TP big kicker. I also wouldnt think its AK since your opponent would most likely reraise preflop. He most likely has a weaker K or maybe even a 7. 1$ sngs are really bad though. The rake is a joke. Move up to 5$ ones.

Yes. That is a very standard fold preflop. It always depends on the size of your stack. With about 15BB (how your stack was),at a 9 handed table, i open up with AQ+, 77+. 7 handed, like it is in your sng, i would open up with AJ+, 66+. Its difficult to say tho because it all depends on how the table has been playing. If they are very tight, you can open a lot wider than if they are all loose/aggressive. If you are not sure, just open AQ+,99+ utg 9 handed. 6 handed AJ+,77+.

I agree with Kill, this is an easy fold preflop. KQo sucks on a full or near full table when you're UTG unless you're very short (like 5-6x BB) in which case it's a shove. I also agree that as played, you have to shove over. If he has a set or two pair then so be it.

Re hands to open (raise of course) in your spot, it does depend on how loose the table has been, but I'm thinking something like 77+, AJ is about right - maybe 66+, AT+ if the table has been tight (which from the looks of your hand it hasn't been).

EDIT: Opening to 400 keeps the pot a bit smaller if you miss the flop and want tto make a c-bet.
