    Default AK TPTK, go broke here? ($27)

    3rd hand. Opp doubled up the previous hand with KK vs 66 all in preflop (). Pain in the arse/ass that I couldn't re-raise.

    That said, I'm ahead often enough here to call, no?

    yeah, sucks but getting this price you have to go with it.

    Tough spot, if he is a decent player he probably has a set or Ax+FD, both are bad news but I think you are priced in to call and race

    Have to call, but expect to lose/chop unless you draw a king

    Can somebody explain the 'priced in already'?
    I guess that means committed?
    I can only imagine someone raising with a better hand, like a set or 2 pair after Taipan has shown strength twice.
    He would still have 1000 chips left and it is level 1 which is plenty.
    I am nowhere near a good player, so can anybody explain why it is a call?

    Edit: you mean pot odds? Sure they are great, but worth with most likely just a few outs?

    Don't always assume that I don't already have the best hand! AT-AQ and flush draws will sometimes also play like this. Also don't discount the fact that this may be the big stack throwing his weight around.

    What we mean by "priced in" is that I need to call 990 chips to win 1830 chips, so I'm getting almost 2:1 on the call. Assuming opp plays the following hands as he did...

    - Sets: 66, 88, AA
    - AsXs and KsQs, KsJs and QsJs flush draws
    - Two pair A8, A6
    - AT-AQ (including pair + FD hands like AsQs)

    ...I'm actually a 51% favourite to win so I'm getting almost 2:1 on my chips but I'm about even money to win. This is what priced in means.

    Code:
    Board: 6s Ah 8s
    Dead:

    	equity 	win 	tie
    Hand 0: 	51.337%  	46.21% 	05.12% 	 { AdKd }
    Hand 1: 	48.663%  	43.54% 	05.12% 	 { AA, 88, 66, ATs+, As9s, A8s, As7s, A6s, As5s, As4s, As3s, As2s, KsQs, KsJs, QsJs, ATo+, A8o, A6o }

    Yes, this is important when making decisions. You have to allow for the chances of being ahead as well as being behind. You cant assume that someone reraising AI has your TPTK beat. For instance I see this a LOT with a FD. Theres also a chance he has something like AQ and thinks he likely has the best hand. So you're not just counting outs v's one or two specific hands, you're including possibilities of whether you're ahead or behind.
    Just dipping my toes back in.
