I killed my fishies. :(

Last night I checked their ammonia levels by way of water sample + chemicals before leaving for a party and without thinking i threw the old water + chemicals back in the tank.

Next morning I wake up, dead tank.

I feel so shitty. I only had three total fish, thankfully, but two are definitely dead, one is... mostly dead. He's struggling and he's trying hard, he's in the cleanest water a fish could ask for. I feel so shitty. I hope he makes it.

It sucks when your pure carelessness and unthinkingness costs any other animal its life.

I just put the last fish down. Alcohol solution. I guess if I had to go, death by vodka wouldn't be the worst way.

pet fish are so lame. my mom use to have 2 huge tanks. pain in the ass to clean and i mean cmon, all they do is swim. you cant even pet them and stuff. although i will say it was cool to see her oscar eat other fish.

You can get some very entertaining fish, and you can keep them alive for awhile with the proper care. I love my 55 gallon and when I graduate from college, I'm going to shoot for a 125-150 gallon
