Losing patience

    Default Losing patience

I get so frustrated.I keep losing my patience during mtts. Suddenly I just go for some stupid draw without any thought of folding and I am out after X hours often play leaving a position where I usually have about the 10 % biggest stack or better. The worst I have performed is when I won a satelite that sent me to another sattelite that I won. Then I am in a $300 buy in tournment. The biggest buy-in I have played. During the first 2 hours I play very confident and of course with some luck. I read the play perfectly. My stack is now 32 k (biggest). The second biggest stack is 17 k and the 3rd about 11 k. There are 23 people left.

After the break, my confidence is totally lost. The good hands don't come to me ( except a 99 - late position that gets reraised by 3 stack to all in from BB - had aces). Seeing my stack shrink and shrnk and shrink makes my patience go bananas. Suddenly I am out as nr 14 or so.

Has anyone been in the same situation?

Yeah, and after reading the replys to Chard's post I'm seriously considering going back on ADD meds. But god I hate drugs...

You're playing scared because you are way over your bankroll. I bet you don't lose confidence in a $10 tournament. Better to take the T$ and play tournies suitable for your roll.

Good point of playing at lower stakes. However, at the operator I played, you can't take the ticket from the satellite and make T$ out of it.

I agree that the solution should be to only play $10 and $20 tournments, and it is probably the optimal thing to do. However, I think I have that much knowledge that I can play higher, but it's just the mental part of it. My idea now is to have a buffert that I feed with winning easy games and then I try to win satellite to bigger once from there.

So what good is your 'knowledge'?
