Ummmmm checking the flop is completely fine, maybe the better play then betting.

I agree. Our hand has showdown value, but is basically dead if we get called. There aren't many cards that can come that will improve villain's hand. I also prefer a check without any information regarding villain's 3bet calling range.

With 10-10 though, i am usually betting so its a close decision.
