pre-flop ok, and flop ok, however once I hit resistance on the flop bet I am shutting down.

What Gator said. I almost always check the turn here after opp calls my flop bet. As played, you have to fold the river.

I thought about it for a while, and then called because i thought if he had a big hand he would check raise since i had been betting hard.
He showed 86hh and i took down 2100 pot.
    Bad call tho?

    woops, wasnt really thinking.
What i actually thought was that he would bet less for value or something.

he bet just over half the pot. Not a bad bet size to represent a decent hand.
