    Default AK Limp Raise (6.50)

    Should i have just raised 3xbb preflop? Or maybe 500.
    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    BB (t2775)
    UTG (t1900)
    MP (t4610)
    Hero (t2575)
    SB (t1640)

    Preflop: Hero is Button with A, K.
    UTG calls t150, 1 fold, Hero raises to t600, 2 folds, UTG raises to t1050, [color=#CC3333]Hero ?

    We have no fold equity so shoving guarentees a showdown. And his line limp reraise smells like QQ+...

    You're getting too good a price to fold here, and the dreaded limp/re-raise is NOT always AA or KK (unless of course you have a read that opp is a raise/shove monkey and now suddenly limps).

    The other alternative would be to just shove over preflop rather than re-raising.

    I would raise to 500, because 500 accomplishes the same as 600 in my experience. And I would insta shove over his raise, because AK is a monster and well ahead of his range, unless he is super tight.
    I think shoving over his call is also fine, but you might miss value with your monster then.
    I am just another learning player, so read my comments (very) open minded.

    The raise is fine (I raise more actually) and I think a shove is in order. You will see a lower pair/worse to make this profitable. Could have been a misclick too :}

    Lol. You have AK, UTG has 12 BBs.

    WORK IT OUT

    ie. don't fold...
