    Default I has a straight

Opp is good lagg who plays relatively passive post flop (compared to his raise and call range pre) and is not tricky. Solid overall.

Overbet is 3 times the pot.

I like a small turn raise vs. a passive player, esp if you've been aggro. I can't see him calling your river shove with worse, but it's so hard to analyze HU in a vacuum.

Left out something important i think.

I had been very aggro and he has played back at me some. This match has a the feel of a bluffers match.

I think i do like half pot better though even though we chop with a straight.

LOL, funny hand. I don't think it's hugely +EV, but I actually like it because I don't see what hand that beats you would check the river (except perhaps AJ). AJ will often fold and Jx will almost always fold.

And incredibly, some players just completely disregard pot odds when they think their opponent is bluffing and call down light. Big mistake.

yeah I think 1% of the time he has AJ.

Still i really expect a straight to bet the river, even though he thought a little bit before he checked. I still expect a straight a lot.

in this case, i bet something less than pot or something like 3/4 dunno i bet what i think he'll call with 1/2p hands there... but pot may be good cos it may sound like a steal

Doyle Brunson wrote about this in one of his Super/System books.

He shoved with a 1card straight on a paired board, almost exactly the same as your hand.

He wrote, that his opponent will lay down the same hand (a straight) and the chance of him having a boat is very small.

    Good play.

    i agree with sauce

if pot was bigger i would try to push him off the straight, but since pot is small just let him call with QT or whatever
