Default multitabling $5.50 or singletabling $11

i've played about 300 $5.50 and $6.50 sngs (ongame and stars) with a roi about 20%. but at the moment i'running incredibly bad with a roi of -20% over the last 70 sngs due to bad play, sick bad beats and tilt.

normally i multitable 4 sngs ($5.50) but i'm thinking of switching to 1 or 2 table(s) $10+1 in order to get more information in the early stages and get more focused on the play. but i'm not sure if this is the right move now or the worst thing i can do (moving up in a downswing). 4x5 means less variance but 2x10 means better reads. how do you guys play: single or multi?

Never move up when you're losing. Try 2x5'ing until you get your game, cool and confidence back, then move up if your BR allows it.

I've always been a proponent of "fewer tables with better reads". To me, my $$/hr isn't the ultimate bottom line, strange as that may sound. And I'm not convinced that $$/hr doesn't work out nearly as well with fewer tables.

Your variance will decrease with fewer tables, not increase. Downswings might last a longer amount of time, but overall your results will be less swingy in general.

Like Cocco, I vote you drop to 2 tables, and then move up when the funk ends.
