I would check turn. You're going to play this hand now, but I don't see any good reason to try and build a huge pot. If he checks behind value bet river. you're a much bigger favorite against the range he bets on the turn vs the ones he calls/raises with.

if he bet 400 or more I'd probably just call and check the river to him & call any bet. I guess I might bet river if we make two pair. I think this looks like we're scared of the A hitting and if he's bluffing may make him want to fire again and should also make him want to value bet any ace.

If he leads weaker than that I would probably move in because I would assume it's either a draw or some hand he isn't going to put any more money in with unless he improves to beat us. B0nus - if he bets 250 with something like AT I don't think he can fold to a push.
