I just had my best ever MTT result. 1000 entrants in a freeroll and I finished 4th. Only once did I suck out. I had lost an all in when I had 9900 chips and so with 5500 left, I went all in the very next game with 59 clubs, got called by 99 - and flopped a flush to make me better off than I was a game ago!

Anyway, I stormed up from 40th into 1st and held it for ages and funnily enough, I felt more pressure as the chip leader, looking over my shoulder and playing hands I shouldn't have. And that is why I finished 4th and not 1st!

I actually find it easier NOT to be at the top.

Also, yesterday was an eye opener. I played my first real life MTT. It was done by the poker league and I really did it for the experience so I wouldn't look a total fish when I eventually go to a casino or enter a live tourney.

It was just £2 to enter and wasn't as plain sailing as I expected. I was nervous, made bad plays, looked hesitant etc. I thought I'd be fine in a casino yet here I was looking shaky with nothing but pride at stake!

Most notable of all was how much harder it was to be aggressive. Can any one relate? I am sure 1st time nerves plaeyd a part but it was an eye opener. No way could I bluff strongly with hard cash at this moment in time, lol!

I also realised I couldn't read anybody!

Anyway, just my thoughts on MTT experience.
