Default new player, should I make new account to get rakeback?

I've been playin for about 3 months, at around 11k hands. I deposited 50, grinded up to 220 so far on .05/.10 stakes.

Should I make a new account and get rakeback? And can I get the initial deposit again, since it's a new account?

What do you guys suggest? Thanks...

kinda vague. where are you playing now? where do you already have accounts at? can you easily move money around between sites? Y0u need to give some more info before anyone will be able to give you a decent answer.

depends on where you are playing. sometimes, yes. should you? depends on where you are playing.

    at FTP, no.

imo, RB is crucial for a small stakes player that is looking to move up through the ranks. you cant clear bonuses at 10 and 25 w/o a lot of work, and the RB stays the same no matter the level you play. should be a no-brainer to at least try.

I play at full tilt right now

I have an account on pokerstars, but I havn't deposited, I just played play money with friends back in the day on there...
I like full tilt's user interface better, dont know why I just prefer it over stars'.

My goal is to keep grinding up, to the highest lvl where I can still be profitable over the long run...

thanks for the replies so far

    kevin,

you will never get a RB account at FTP now. they are the strictest on the planet with that stuff. just continue chasing their reloads when you can.

and, while youre at it, i would suck it up and stick some money on stars....solely for their sign-up bonus. its not much, but it makes you eligible for the rarer, and bigger, reloads they offer. thats about all i can see you can do, until you grind you way up higher.

anyone else that can add anything better, please do. i'm not being much help to him.

chopper summed it up. with an existing FTP account you will never be able to get RB. If you are a non US player, there are other sites (party) that you could try.

Acually it is not impossible for the op the get rb at ftp. Atleast not according to some people i have talked to. He will just have to jump through some hoops. First he will need to sign up another name. Use your wife or someone. Secondly you must use a different funding method. I've never actually tried it though as i'm scared they might seize my roll.

exactly what i meant by "strictest on the planet."

when you have to use a different funding method, it just isnt worth the trouble, imo. i could have spelled out HOW to get around them, but didnt think it worth it to go into such details.

umm rakeback is obviously worth a little bit of hassle. you do know it is free money right?

I had a real money account that I never actually deposited into. It took all of about 5 minutes to get that account cleared. Just email them and tell them you want the account deleted.

May not be so simple if you have deposited, but still worth a shot. Just email account services.

i think i will email them, saying I will create a new account, transfer my balance to it, and ask them to delete my current one...

    they will say, "no."

i did that already. nothing short of changing your identity can save you. actually, that may be worth a shot.

don't tell them you are creating a new one. just say you don't plan on playing there anymore and would like them to delete your account. i have done it on 2 different sites. trust me. it works.

    Worst idea ever.

They will tell you just to change your user name. Just tell them to delete your account, then start a new one a few days later. Don't explain anything to anyone.

"Hi, my name is xxxx and my user name is xxxx43x. I will not be using my ftp account anymore and would like for you to delete it."
