Default Two questionable spots with AK - $11 PS

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (7 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Hero (t1630)
    UTG (t2200)
    MP1 (t1530)
    MP2 (t1075)
    CO (t1240)
    Button (t1695)
    SB (t4130)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, K.
    2 folds, MP2 raises to t200, 3 folds, Hero ???

Should I call and see flop or just shove? OOP on flop would be tough if I miss.

Should I shove over knowing I will get a insta-call?

What would you do in these two situations without any reads.

    I shove over on both.
Hand 1 because were OOP and want to see all 5 cards
Hand 2: Because were well ahead of a chipleaders button raising range.
and hand 1 we might pick up the pot preflop which is fine too

    Hand 1: Push
    Hand 2: Insta-push

These are anything but questionable. These are allins.

    Thanks for the responses.

Dean, I am still a learning player so these were questionable to me. Good to see that both hands shoving was the correct decision.

Sorry if I sounded condescending. I'm just glad you made the right decision NH

Hand2 is a clear push, your stack is pretty shallow and you get a raise for 40% of your stack from the big stack on the button.

Hand1 I dont think a push it bad, but I dont hate calling either.

The advantage of pushing is that you may take the pot right here, and if you are called by PP you have about 50% chance of taking it down.
The disadvantage of pushing is that hands that may make this raise from MP and you have dominated - AJ/AT/KQ/AQ may fold here, while if you call and they c-bet you can raise them AI and pick up some more chips, and if the flop hits you both (AK vs AJ with A flopping) you can destack them

TLR, the reason I prefer a push is that I prefer seeing all 5 cards with AK. We are only 35ish percent to hit a pair on the flop and check/folding the flop is weak (also we are out of position). The chances of both players hitting the same pair are around 10%, so lets just go allin pre.

I don't quite understand this logic.
What kind of flop are we exactly looking for that we MISS but can still pick off there cbet with a ALL In raise?

I would not like a flop with Q9 or all flush or 9TJ, bot on a lot of flops if he has something like AQ and will c-bet he will fold

I like pushing Hand 1 just because the raiser only had 1000 chips to begin the hand.

But lets just say the raiser has a medium stack. Does anyone reraise (but not all in) in this spot? You do have a stack size of 31BB's which is fairly comfortable. IMO pushing here screams "I like my hand but I'm scared to see a flop". Very rarely do you see people reraise a 30BB stack with QQ+. Raising to 600 looks scarier because it's what someone with QQ+ would do. Making the scary raise will probably give you more fold equity, so you don't even have to have coinflips with pocket pairs. For example, say you reraise to 600 and the raiser has TT and calls. Flop comes Qxx and you lead out. Even though you've missed, you make it really hard for the winning hand to call. If you push preflop TT will likely call because you basically just told him its a coinflip with AQ/AK
