villain is "iconed" as LAP. usually, when these guys get rather aggressive, i give them credit, but this one has me perplexed. i'm sure i laid it down because of the "passiveness" this guy usually shows, but think i made a mistake due to the potential of my hand...

should i call off a stack here against an opponent passive post flop...given strong outs?

even though i have no FE against this type of villain, i prolly should have pushed over his flop bet and felted there.

pfr i waffled a bit last month. most times 4X, but when 3X, it was that way for the whole session, not just once in awhile.

And yes, if someone raises, I would push. It is unlikely someone has an over pair, but possible, and if they do you have outs up the wazoo. Against a straight you are pretty fucked but can still draw out (its also unlikely you are against this).

The most like hand that raises here IMO is a pair + SD which you dominate, or a set which you also have lots of outs against.

there inlies my true question. i dont feel i have FE agaisnt these call station villains no matter what the board looks like. i push combos...get called by TP or worse. however, they fold dry boards like no other. its just more the coordinated boards i am noticing.

at what point do you play hands fast, then? do they have to be top two pair or better? and, even then, are you only value betting them?

i often sit at tables with 3+ players who's vpip's are over 40. and most have SD numbers in the mid-30's. they rarely fold to cbets, but i havent seen enough showdowns to get great reads on whether they can bluff or not. i just seem to see a lot of suckouts when i "should" be ahead. ragged two pair hands and what not.

thing is, these guys wouldnt know a "squeeze play" if it bit them on the ass. they call if they have something they like, and fold if they dont have at least a draw.

thank you for that. lately, i have been playing against idiots that you cant semi-bluff. betting draws just got expensive when they werent coming in...and they werent paying extra when they did. i used to pot them 2 streets at old party because they PAID when they hit, too.

i love to bet draws, but this was strictly an adjustment to the opponents i have been playing. 2-3 call stations per table means, to me, wait and bet your draws once they come in...

you are betting because your hand is probaby the best and if its not you have tons of outs. you want to build the pot when you have so much equity.

betcall flop prob, but if you were observant enough to realise that everyone is half stacked then the stack/pot ratio is perfect to check raise all in.
