Default .5/1 - Overpair played weak or smart?

No strong reads on BB, we shared a couple of tables and he seemed to play a strong TAG-game. I was playing TAG and pretty aggro postflop. I called flop hoping to keep SB in the hand.

I think raising the flop for info is a better play than trying to keep the SB in. Now you play the rest of the hand having no idea where you're at.

We´re wa/wb on flop, he is not drawing.

I dont think raising for info is that important. I didn´t want to blow him off A8/TT/99 nor would I like to play a big pot and be forced to call good sized bets on later streets. Since we´re 3way sets are a huge part his range.

Right, but you put in 45bb unsure of where you are in the hand. Granted you didn't know at the time if he was going to bet the turn and river, but I would rather raise to $27 and fold to a shove (or call if you think he can do it with 99-KK) than play blind. This is dependant on past hands and notes.
