Default Question about big-field Stars turbos

I see these ridiculous $5 turbo tourneys on Stars with 5 min levels that get like 2k+ players and are over in like 2.5 hours. Are these things profitable at all or should they just be avoided?

Sure they're profitable. You just have to know good push/fold strategy. Good bit of variance though.

Is the point in which you enter push/fold mode still at like an M of 10 or below or does it need to be adjusted in turbos?

Some people are successful at playing loose early to build a big stack. However, those that multi-table are really tight early and play their big hands hard and then go into resteal mode when 10M or 15bbs. That is to say that they are shoving over weak limpers when in the blinds or over people that appear to be stealing too much in LP.

When around 10bbs, you should be pushing almost any two, depending upon the looseness of the players in the blinds, from the CO+ when folded to. You do not want to let your stack to ever get below 5bbs.

Calling is also an important part of these. In other words, when in the blinds and you have a hand that plays good against someone shoving 10bbs with possibly any two, you should call. Even if that means busting.

This is why I said that variance is big in these. You will be racing a lot. Your emotions will have to stay even keel because your big hands will get cracked. But, if you play a lot of these your big hands will get paid off and you will suck-out with your worst hands and win.

What's interesting is that these types of tourneys will help you in normal speed tourneys. They will teach you when to open up your game.
