Villian is passive preflop. Calls a lot of raises/limps a lot. Do i cbet here and how without commiting me to the pot? Half pot? Or just check / fold.

Hmm the pot is 1025, he has 1815-400=1415 left.
If you bet 500 and he shoves, the pot is 1025+500+1415=2940 and it will cost you 1415-500=915 to call and you have to win 24%, which you do with 2 overs.
You could bet a little less, but you will be commited.
I find check folding too weak, espcially on this board with intitiative.
If he was aggressive we could give him a chance to bluff, but he might not bet.
I think I bet and call a shove.

exactly what i did mattiesmat. i bet 700 and he shoved so i was getting too good of odds to even fold with overs.
