Just noticed this, my apologies if this has been posted before. Seems like an interesting take on the standard SnG. Please post any thoughts/strategy's on these tourneys here.

Not sure that I see the point of these really. The fact that the tourney will end at a set point in time probably means that you have to gamble it up a bit more early and then get super nitty if you have the bigstack or second stack as the finishing time gets near, but gamble it up if you're not one of the ITM stacks.

The random ones seem to me to be even worse.

seems to me it would be more worth it to play fast here than in a standard tourney, especially if the 2nd and 3rd place guys were not, since you can get some of their equity.

I think you're misunderstanding, doc. The prize pool is still split 50/30/20.

I have tried these and found them interesting. I think optimal strategy is still to play super tight early, as many donks open shove etc. to get into first place, and then really start shoving into the blinds near the end. You need to be able to adapt quickly and work out optimal push/fold. I found them difficult to multitable because of this, and so lost interest

Oh yeah, I forgot. That was my other issue with them, in a 5 min tourney, party still allocated a 30 sec timebank to each player
