    Default two big pair hands

Two hands where I'm a little uncertain

    Hand 1) Villain is 13-2-0.4, Villain's range? In hindsight I think I should have pushed, 77, 88, 99, TT more likely than QQ, 33, 66 and I think KK/AA raise pre-flop. Thoughts?

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (7 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    SB ($7.40)
    BB ($24.50)
    UTG ($9.25)
    Hero ($39.85)
    MP2 ($10.60)
    CO ($22.45)
    Button ($25.05)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J, J. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
1 fold, UTG calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1, 2 folds, Button calls $1, 1 fold, UTG folds.

    Flop: ($2.50) 6, 3, 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $2.5, Button raises to $5, Hero folds.

    Final Pot: $7.50

Hand 2) I think pre is fine, and I have to c-bet. I don't like a second barrel and there isn't much I'm ahead of once the river comes. Bet-fold? check-fold?

Hand 1: Don't fold. RR and get yourself committed on the flop
Hand 2: As played c/f river I guess unless you think he can float here or plays really bad and can have lower PPs. You say you have to cbet this flop...why?? I think checking here is a lot better.

Hand 1: yep, looking at this i become more and more disgusted with my fold
Hand 2: I c-bet to win the pot, pre-flop looks like AK is a big part of my range, so I scoop it - and even some Ax hands will be folding. It makes the rest of the hand easy to play too, but would you believe villain had QQ - wtf!?!

Why are you cbetting full pot?

I think this is a leak. Your hand still has good showdown value, by checking you can try to maximize profits instead of losing the least by taking it down right there. It's so rare a worse hand is calling, but by checking flop and inducing other shit you get more value out of your hand.

I would probably bet full pot with AK as well, and I'm often ahead here even without an ace. Might be time for me to re-think my bet-sizing/reasoning

I think you are right, thanks for the well-reasoned line of thought! I've still a long way to becoming a good player, lucky I'm winning in the meantime....

Trust me, I'm not saying you aren't good or anything, just something to think about (myself included as I usually think more of how to lose the least...which I think isn't the best move).

As for your cbets, betting full pot means your opponent has to fold 50% of the time to breakeven (not taking account more streets). If you bet smaller, they can fold less often to make it profitable.

    1. Don't wanna felt this nit, but don't wanna fold without seeing how he feels further. He's scared on turn with QQ and real scared on river.

    1. Actually a felt should be fine since he's probably a garbage nit and will felt 88.
