    Personally I check here. If he is on a draw that missed he will check behind, then you can check/call the river. If he bets when you check then give up IMO.

    The reason I bet here is that I expect TP to reraise me on this board, and it is unlikely the 7 helped him, the only logical hand the 7 would help is T9 with a double gutshut str8 draw

    Passive players might just call a flop bet with hands like QT, I check because if he fires again for any reasonable bet I think we can get away with a good chance we are beat.

    True, but you might also be folding the best hand if he fires

    True, but by betting we are pretty much pot committed and have to show down this hand, and if he has the Q we are pretty much out.
