Yes, except the turn check is worse than the lay down.

If I were you and I seuspected a flush out there, I would bet something like 300 on the turn. If I get check-raise, I may (repeat - may) fold. If he calls and checks on the river, I would probably also check. If he calls and bet really big on the river, then I would seriously consider folding with that straight and flush possibilites on the board.

I don't think bet/fold is good at all on the turn. There's too much in the pot and like badgers said i should have just shoved the turn.
The way the action went i wanted to peel a free card and hope to fill up because it felt so much like one of the 2 had the flush by the flop action. (Min bet call call call pot size raise call call) Than the flush card comes and i get scared. Usually i don't let that scare card actually scare me when i have as strong of a hand as a set and i think other hands from this last week led me to play this like i did (2 or 3 set over sets , set lose to flush , rivered straights beating sets , blah blah blah).

    Oh and sidenote:
Villian who bet the river shows J-10 offsuit and the other guy calls after i fold shows KQoffsuit.
    I wanted to puke.
I would have felt better getting stacked by a flush

That is why I would do something looking like a value bet on the turn in order to make the opponents think I have something good...or maybe I consider them too good I have not really noticed there are three of you in the hand and hence the pot is like 600 but still, half the pot bet looks like a value bet to me and would make me think.

On the turn pot is 1000 and your remaining stack is 1000, push and hope for the best
