KQ on the bubble vs. a maniac.

Default KQ on the bubble vs. a maniac.

This is a 6 max, $5.50 SnG with the top 3 getting paid, although 3rd place only really gets the buy-in back.

The Button had been a nutcase since it got to four players, raising and re-raising all-in quite often. The SB and BB had been quite tight, only calling with top hands. The previous hand, Button had lost half his stack when he pushed all-in over an UTG raise with his monster 83 and had been called with KK.

What is the best way to play against this sort of player sitting on my left with my stack size? Is KQ good enough to push with here? I was thinking about a raise of 250-300 but if he then pushes over again, I would be faced with a decision.

Big Blind is t100 (4 handed)

    Hero (t1395)
    Button (t1040)
    SB (t2855)
    BB (t1910)

    Preflop: Hero is UTG with K , Q .
    Hero ??

I would fold - I think you are too deep to be shoving this into 3 opps, one of which is a known maniac. Std raising also seems bad since it is likely you will be pushed over.

Thanks badgers, after some consideration I eventually did fold. The next orbit in the same position, I picked up JJ and pushed with that. Maniac called with 85o and I had a nice double up. Not sure what he thought he was ahead of but I didn't mind. Perhaps 8 is his favourite number!
