was calling PF ok? Initial raiser had been kinda loose.

on the flop I didnt like the 2 diamonds and felt I had to bet something.

looks good to me but id probly bet atleast the pot on the flop, if someone has a flush draw id wanna bet high enough to make em think if its worth it b4 they decided to chase it.
    I post nonconstructive piss

That's scary flop for your 77s despite the trips, however you've got to bet it to flush out the diamond draws or the possible straight draws. However all things said looks good. Checking here would be terrible.

I may be a nit, but I dont always call in this spot. low mid pocket pairs I try to limp, with several limpers before, and in position. Here you face a raise 3BB, and the current pot odds are not huge. Someone could be raising after you.

However, with your read that the raiser is lose, calling is probably not horrible, as you do have implied odds.

On the flop, bet the pot to make people drawing pay to do so.
    Yes.
    No.
    I dont know.
    He doesnt mean it,

The fact that the raiser had been loose makes me want to fold more preflop.

As played, I would bet ~240 on the flop with such a drawy board (I would bet the same here even on a rainbow flop)

Personally I would never fold preflop in this spot, I think this loses value. I would call here every time and try to hit a set on the flop.

Otherwise, I agree with the others, with two opps seeing the flop and a very drawy board I would bet 3/4 to full pot on the flop, if they both fold then so be it.

Why would you fold this pf for a 3x raise? Call, set, and bet.

    I call for set value.
I see what Badgers is saying though , the fact the the raiser is loose decreases our chances of stacking him because chances are he doesn't have a real hand. I'm much more happy to set-mine VS a tighty/nit/regular because if he flops TP/Overpair i stack him everytime.

But similarly, a loose player raising may stack off on a Q7x flop if he has QT or a 97x flop if he has A9?

We're getting 15x implied odds, so if we call preflop we he's going to have to stack off on half the flops we hit. If the pf raiser is loose, that decreases the chance of him having overcards to our 7s. The chance of him hitting the flop with his overcards is like 1/3, probs less since we've already taken one of the flop cards by hitting our 7.

That's why i think it's possibly a fold preflop. If there are gigantic holes in this logic (which is quite possible, I'm feeling exhausted) let me know.

Bet more on the flop. I bet 300ish.
The board is very drawy, so you want to charge them.
I am just another learning player, so read my comments (very) open minded.

    Thanks for the replies folks.

PF i think I'm always calling for set value. On the flop I maybe should have bet more, perhaps the pot.

    Still a bit rusty having not been playing for a while. In my last 33 tourneys i've finished 1st once, 2nd 6, 3rd 6, 4th 7th and 5th 7...
