In the waiting line for the long run...
The common wisdom (or I should say the common player) dictates ITM between40% and 50% is good, although some beleive 40%ITM is not attainable in the long run.

Have a look at the FAQs, I have a table in there where I list some typical ITM percentages at various buyins.

That said, my ITM % at various buyins over 1500+ single table tourneys is around 40%.

My aim is 50%. I dont track it, but 40% sounds good.

Heres my unscientific reasoning. If you can get a 2nd or 3rd every two games or so, then that lets you run around even (a 3rd is slightly behind even a 2nd is slightly ahead). That means when you win a game, thats your profit.

Kind of irrelevant though really. Play each game to the best of your ability and you'll get ITM as much as you do.
Just dipping my toes back in.

The other thing I was going to add is that an ITM that is too high can mean an ROI that is too low; if you are letting yourself squeak into the money with a tiny stack then you'll often not finish second or first.
