    Yes, call.
This is very often a draw, TP or a lower pair.
Sometimes you are beat by his flopped set/flush/2pair, but you are ahead often enough.
I am just another learning player, so read my comments (very) open minded.

Yes, even a red overpair on an all black board is the best hand here often enough to make calling +EV.

    Without a ninja read, yes.

Hmm, maybe I've just felt like such a donkey the times I've called them I've let that get in the way of making long term good calls.

In a $2 tournament where the play is really bad I'd call here. A lot of times this is just a bare 7 without a flush draw. At high limits its probably a fold because it could be a higher pair, set, Aclub 7 much more often. Even at this limit its not a spot I really like...just a bare Jc, Qc, Kc, Ac is 45% against TT.

At a $27/$38/$60 I would most likely not call here as I would expect to be shown either a) a set b) a combo draw like overpair + FD, FD + 2 overs or c) higher overpair with no flush draw, all of which we're in bad shape against.

In those limits I would call it, there are just so many times you are ahead (7x, 66,88,99 etc) or flipping (Ax clubs) that it is worth a call
