I probably bet more into the flop say 3/4 - 675 or so - your bet looks weak and looks scared of the Ace, which it looks to me what he's trying to represent , a stronger flop bet could get him to laydown Ace Rag type hands.

If he calls a decent sized flop bet then I'm giving up . . . There's plenty that your behind on the river shove so again although it could be a bluff I can't see many hands your ahead of aside from 66,77,99,JJ,K9 perhaps. So I fold with gritted teeth.

300 to go preflop, no need to bet 400 here. Betting more preflop just inflates the pot in case you need to give it up (which with KK is admittedly not very often).

Check behind for sure on that very scary flop for KK. There are a lot of hands that would have you beat here. I would check behind and hope to spike a J (since a K may make somebody's straight).

On the river, definite fold, there's isn't too much you beat here.

i thought inflating the pot with a premium hand was a good thing?
and when do u start making the switch from betting 4xbb +1 for every limper to betting 2.5 or 3x the BB?

    thx

With a big hand like AA and KK you don't want to chase them all away, but if they are going to call a bigger raise that's not a bad thing. I definitely wouldn't raise 4x BB as my standard raise with weaker hands like AK however, because if you want to c-bet a missed flop that increases the size of the bet.

Detroit has laid out his open raise table somewhere else but mine is:

    - 10/20 blinds: 4x (80)
    - 15/30 blinds: 4x (120)
    - 25/50 blinds 3x (150)
    - 50/100 blinds 2.5x (250)
    - 75/150 blinds ~2.5x (400)
    - 100/200 no ante: 2.5x (500)
    - 100/200 ante 25: 3x (600)
    - 200/400 ante 25: 2.5x (1000) - but usually by this stage either your stack or your opps' stacks are <10x BB so you just shove it.
