Default Tourney for review ($11) - long HU section

Posting this both for review, and as an example of a long HU section where we had decent stacks to play with.

The Tournament Trimmer (v1.1.4w) was developed by JeffreyGB at http://www.FlopTurnRiver.com.

    ---Tournament Summary---
    $11 SNG: Finished 1/9 for $45
    Data for 113 hands.
    You played 36 hands (31.86%)
You raised 22 times preflop (19.47%)

    3 T BU (M = 50.00; c+c+f+f+f+f+F)
    6 9 CO (M = 50.00; c+f+f+f+c+F)
    6 8 CO-1 (M = 50.00; f+f+f+c+F)
    2 6 MP2 (M = 50.00; f+f+c+F)
    T K MP1 (M = 50.00; f+c+F)
    9 K UTG+1 (M = 50.00; c+F)
    Q 9 UTG (M = 50.00; F)

Not to be results oriented, but this is a great example of why a hand like KJ isnt strong multi-way, didnt even cross my mind to call the flop raise.

    -----Hand 1-----
    Hero's M = 50.00

    7 Q CO-1 (M = 40.67; f+c+f+f+F)

This hand was largely reading the way the hand played, interested in thoughts. With 2 limpers in front I prefer to play this for set value. I'm prepared to let it go on the flop, but once thats checked around I try to see showdown cheaply as I dont believe someone has the A.

Not sure about this one, but MVC seems a solid player (he's ITM with me on at least one other table at the same time), his range should be fairly wide here. Not thrilled about doing this without an A though...

More postflop poker! I rarely c-bet a flop like that, what am I telling him I hit after my PF raise? Likewise, whats the chance he called with a 7 in his hand which he's trying to tell me he has on the turn and river? Nah, he's bluffing a large % of the time here.

I rarely ever limp HU, but sometimes I will just to mix things up, can also help setup a trap later. I like to pick a hand that isnt a great raising hand, but could hit something decent, J's are nice.

First time he's 3-bet me pre. Its soo tempting when you get caught up in a game to believe "he's playing back at me because I'm raising a lot". He's not, he's waited to pick up a great hand and now he's ready to play back. I dont like to mess with this unless he starts doing it a few times.

Even though he's got a 3:1 chip lead, theres no need to panic yet. I'm not in P/F mode yet, still room to play poker.

Risky turn bet here. I didnt think the flop likely to hit him, but suddenly any J or diamond pwns me. Again I prefer to lead turn though and let him wonder if I'm the one it hit.

Really interested in thoughts on this. We've been HU for a long time, blinds have just gone up to the point we'll likely be in P/F mode from now on. I'm usually a 55% favorite here and I have a 2:1 chiplead, leaving me with around 10xBBs if I lose. I did think a bit though.

    1. KJs - dude, you have a flush draw + pair + overcard here! I would shove over the bet and the raise! You're only worse than 50/50 if opp has a set or a better flush draw.

    3. TT - I think you played this fine. I might consider letting it go on the turn but I agree his bet looks weak. On the river you're not folding getting 4:1 odds.

    5. A9s - fine, I might make it 350 rather than 400 to go but meh. What's your plan if he shoves over?

    6. K7s - make it 250 not 300 to go preflop, I think you fold out the same hands. As played, I don't mind not c-betting that flop since it is quite drawy and has two broadway cards.

    9. J6o - yeah, don't think this a good push at all on the bubble with almost 13x BB and shoving into the big stack.

    2 5 SB (M = 5.62; f+F) (between 9 and 10) - I would shove this

    10. K7o - I think this one is a close fold running it through SNGPT. Shoving is not terribly -EV though.

    11. Q3o - not worth the risk with middle pair, but this kind of overbet is very often a draw or a weak hand that doesn't want a call. I would shove over with K-almost everything here.

    12. KQs - I think shoving over is OK here, good thing about KQ is that you're only in really bad shape against a very few hands.

    16. 86o - I probably make it 300 to go on the flop so as not to build the pot too much with weak top pair. I could go either way on the turn (bet or check behind), I probably bet it as you did since you have a pair + OESD.

    18. A4s - I think I c-bet the flop most times. You could have a bunch of hands - A8, A7, A5, a set, maybe two pair. As played, if you did not bet the flop I would just fold the turn but I think the river raise is OK since his bet does look weak.

    22. K8o - I dump this preflop, whilst stacks are deep I think the positional disadvantage is too great and I'm not sure what flop you like to hit with K8 (other than two pair or better obv).

    28. 52s - after opp has raised you back preflop I am reticent to complete again. Guess the second time around it's not too bad, but if he habitually raises you when you complete then just dump it.

Folds between 30 and 31 - I don't mind folding the worst hands to let opp know (if he is watching) that you're being at least somewhat selective.

    31. K4o - maybe I play too ABC, but I just give it up on the flop. An alternative would be to raise him up to 700 or so on the flop and see what he does. I sort of like the turn bet if you are going to call (float) the flop.

    35. 94o - turn bet is risky but I don't mind it since stacks are deep.

    2 9 SB (M = 25.97; F)
    8 J SB (M = 25.97; F) (between 35 and 36) - opp seems to be tight, I would consider raising these

    36. 22 - call is fine I think, I doubt he would shove if he had a monster hand, so you're likely 50-55% favourite here. You do need to worry about hands like 33-99 though. I probably call this too in a game.
