First Stars SnG for a while.

Default First Stars SnG for a while.

This is my first SnG on Stars for about a month, I've been playing a lot of 6-max over at another site.

Did I do anything wrong here or is it just unlucky? Hand 2 I think should of been a fold, I just got a bit impatient. Were the pushes on Hand 3 and Hand 4 ok?

Hand 2 - I probably fold this UTG +1, either that or I'm raising it to say 100. As played bleh you've got bottom pair and a potential straight, I'd be betting the flop, but again if you raised pre you would be able to take the pot.

79 in the SB - I'd probably compete if the BB is pretty tightish

Hand 3 - yeah 225 chips in the pot, Q9 is above average holding vs any two cards in the BB. I push, sucks he has KK but happens.

98 from CO your getting very short, I'd be pushing this, yeah the caller probably calls but in your situation your pretty much dead in the water. 98 has chances against any hand.

6K UTG again with an M of 2.40 I'd be pushing this.

36 from the Button probably a push with everyone having folded.

T3 from cut-off probably a push, obviously if you've double up before hand then I'd change opinions on these but with such a low M you have to take shots when the pot hasn't.

    Hand 4 - yep

Hand 5 - yep easy push unlucky.

Thanks Skeeno, appreciate the comments. Below are the reasons I didn't push the hands you mentioned. I know I was getting low and maybe should of pushed some of them but I have put comments of what my thought processes were at the time. Hand 3 was what destroyed my stack and I find it difficult to come back and make correct push/fold decisions with a very short stack. Comments on my thought processes anyone?

If I was first into the pot I would of probably pushed this. I don't like pushing after there has been a caller though.

The BB at this point was 150 which I would have to put in next hand so maybe this is a push. Don't really like pushing with 6K but maybe here I have no choice.

I hate this hand here as I would be pushing into the two big stacks (4370 and 5370 respectively).

Same as the previous hand but with an extra player to push into.

Meh yeah I noticed the UTG limper there but sometimes you got to ride with it when you short imo. Even if your only 50/50 at best here I'd take my chance with 89 vs one big card/one small combo. If you win one double up your back to some sort of steadier stack.

As far as the other hands go it doesn't show the stack sizes so yeah probably pushing 36/103 from the button/CO means your getting a call whatever, sucks to get such low crappy cards, as far as hand 3 goes I make that push . . and will continue to do so, it's just real unlucky to run into KK. I may be wrong as far as pushing their but I think it's the best move. Good luck . .

Your welcome mate, I'm pretty inexperienced myself so I'm sure someone with a bit more know-how will put us right if we're wrong

Fold or raise to 150 preflop. As played pre, lead out the flop with 150. You've got a piece and opponents are not likely strong enough to call. If they call you have to shut down unless you hit the case T.

8h Kc BB (Folded to Hero.)
    LOL @ the table.

    Looks good otherwise.
