calling is risky (you will often get stacked with TPTK against some crappy two pair) but ok this deep and w/position and this early against a field that is not likely to fold.

I like a raise a lot better though. I'd probably raise anywhere between 150-200 here. I don't even mind a push here pre, as you will see foolios calling here with AJ/AQ pretty often this early.

I like raising to about 120 here. If you get 2 callers or less, I cbet virtually any flop except something like QJ9. If you get 3 or more callers just play it passively since you have no position and one of those guys will likely have you beat and will be willing to keep calling.

Id raise to 140, (3X + 1 per limper) and then just like FlyingSaucy Im cbetting almost every flop. If 3 or more callers alot more passive, only cbetting uness I hit good or 8 plus outs.

With AK your already ahead of all those limpers ranges and it plays best against fewer opponents so its atuo raise.

I like the open shove this early...donks love to call with AQ and Aj like chardrian said. They think ooh he's a maniac...bluffing and i can double up. And if they dont call you get the limp ins.

When oop, I would stick in an extra bb or so instead of the normal 3xbb + 1bb for each limper. Since you don't have positional advantage, you want to charge those that do a little extra.

I believe it was the brilliant duo Salt 'n' Pepa that said it best:

    Push it.

What the heck am I reading here? Push preflop AK early in a 4.40/180 sng? What value does that build? What is so wrong about playing post flop?

Nothing is wrong with playing postflop. Most players don't know how to play postflop tho.

If you are one of those players who feels the need to c-bet any and every flop that you raised preflop even if you get 2+ callers than I'd rather you just get em in here pre.

I don't like to push here. Just raise to 150/200 and see what happens.

You can get much more value out of this hand playing it, then you do by pushing.

You push and get called by / win:

    Ax - 73%
    pp - 45%

I don't think picking up the pot justifices pushing here, neither does getting called by Ax. You surely don't want to get called by someone who limped in with 99.

Why get your who tournament in jeopardy, while just playing the hand with some healty aggression gets much more value out of the hand.

Putting in just another bb? Lol - WHY??? To get yourselve in a bigger pot, OOP?

I like the push early. It sets you up for hero calls by fools later on who wanna take out the maniac who pushes on level 1.
