1. wtf do calories do
2. all else being equal, if you lowered your calorie intake so that you burned more calories in a day than you take in, would you lose weight?

I'm pretty sure, from a top level it is. Your body consumes X number of calories a day, you ingest Y calories. If Y>X you expect to gain mass, if Y<X you expect to loose mass. | |
