    Default $16 - AQ spewing?

This might be a result orientated post, but I really felt bad after having lost 1/3rd of my stack at this hand.
    How would you play it?
    Would you just check preflop?
    Raise less preflop?

As played preflop, would you cbet?
Villain was 57/14 after 7 hands.

I don't think it is spewing, but I do think there are two camps on how to play against these ultra aggressive LAGGY types. I tend to not C-bet them with air if I feel like they will just push over my c-bet, but there are others who will make this C-bet all day.

As weak as it sounds, I like checking preflop. Your flop cbet is fine though, villian is folding a lot

this is fine, with a total miss HU it's hard to be 'wrong' with a c bet, especially here where he may have A9 or Q9 or A5 and making a pair might be costly.

But, this is a really unscary flop for any PP and with him playing lots of hands he can easily have 9x or 5x or other draw in addition to just trying to move you off since if he's been watching you he knows this flop missed most of your range. Again I don't think you always need to check these kind of flops, but certainly you should check here more than on a K98 board.

Does everyone always raise here pre flop?
I hate building a pot this big early with a hand like AQ OOP. Mainly because spots like these occur far too often to make it profitable.

That's a good point and I actually think the best line here may be to check pre-flop and lead out on any flop with an A or Q on it.

Thats how I tend to play them. Feels wrong to play AQ so passively OOP, but I tend to get into trouble enough times raising here.
Just dipping my toes back in.

If i were to raise it tho mattie, I would make it smaller pf and make either a smaller cbet or just c/f because that flop hits range more than it hits your perceived range so hes likely to raise your cbet with alot of hands.

I almost always check against ep limper. See a cheap flop and your range is like the bottom 95% of hands so you could get really creative on raggy flops. cr, open pot bet, whatever. Plus when you hit tp or hit the ace, opponent won't believe you.

I disagree with getting creative on raggy flops. But i do like firing out on Ax or Qx boards.
Especially Ax boards as we'll often get a call from raggy aces.
