So today I woke up randomly at like 5:30 A.M. wide awake ,and tried to go back to sleep for about 45 minutes and couldn't. So I pretty much said fuck it, I'll just end my misery and do something productive until I get tired again. So I began a session at around 6:30 A.M. Well, I never got tired and I played for about 4 hours, and never in my life have I seen so many fish playing at once. It was Utopia. So, the moral of the story is I am going to try to get in the habit of waking up early and playing around 3k hands to start off my day. There is a decent chance I will just not do it because I am a lazy lump, but god damnit I am going to try!

Very good idea, in the summer and breaks I always wake up at 10:00 if not earlier and play until lunch time. Productive way to start of your day and its cool to treat it like a job.

It's just like regular fishing. Got to get up early if you wanna catch fish. I know on the weekends if I zonk out early and wake up about 2 or 3 in the morning and start playing I have some great sessions. Knock off then about 8 or 9 and all is golden.

By contrast, I find early evening some of the worst times to play. Goota catch the ones that are playing buzzed or that are sleepy because they have been playing all night and are in wrap up stage of their night.

Ive noticed the same. I'll be bored and not tired at 2AM, log on to play for a bit, and find a donkpalooza. Are overseas players really this bad?

I wake up that early intentionally because I work 9-6 and still like to get in 30 hrs of poker per week. My wife was starting to get real pissed when I was staying up till 2:30am every night so I had to compromise lol.

My wife goes to sleep at 9:30 everynight though because she too gets up that early. Imagine how your wife would feel if you never went to bed with her?

it is difficult to imagine as i do not have a wife. but you could always try faking sleeping and wait till she falls asleep, then do that until she catches you. when she does just say you couldnt fall asleep. i should open up an excuse hotline.

okay, so i have been playing a lot in the morning, and less in the afternoon/night time. it has been going very well. i will post some graphs at the end of the month. other than that i feel really good about playing in the morning, because not only is it more profitable, but it forces me to get on a better routine.

so far this month i have played 29,000 hands. this below my goal this month to play 3,000 hands/day, but i guess you set your goals high for a reason. i may do a couple marathon sessions to get more hands in.

my new goal is to feel comfortable at 400nl by my bday (april 2nd). i think this is a reasonable goal, and i think i can do it. if i run bad it is going to be very painful and suck, but if i run good then it will be fun and when i eventually do run bad it wont be so bad because its a lot easier to go through a 20+ bi downswing when you have 50 buy ins then 30 and have to drop back down a limit.

btw you will notice i changed the title because now i am not only playing morning poker i am playing a couple 400nl tables here and there.
