Default goldstar 50k weekly, brilliant huge move or retarded??

only 15 left in this 50k weekly goldstar tourney( 1500 entires). I had monster chipstack . villain is 16.7/12.5 only 25 hands with another big stack, basically unknown.
i tried to play a little bit loose and balanced my range on the Ft bubble.
after he checked again on the turn, i felt he had some weak hands like higher flush draw, small-medium pairs , blah blah. so i made a huge shove with the intention of folding all of his non-monster hands. Brilliant ot stupid at all?

it isn't bad, but if he liked his hand on the flop the 6 probably didn't change his mind. It may be a 'huge' bet but he's still getting 2/1. I'd rather shove over on the flop where you have a ton of equity if he does have 88 types. If he has a higher FD this is terrific but since we have one I discount that a bit.

Hmm... tough situation, but by not knowing anything about him, and seeing his betting pattern here, I would say he is on the 10. Maybe Q10 or K10, possibly even J10 or A10. Most likely one of the first two though. His raise is what should have triggered a red flag. He raise a good amount, but it was actually a good raise, because he knew he was giving you the odds to call if you had a pair or maybe a draw. At this point there is over 150,000 in the pot, and it costs you 46,000 to call. Something tells me he wanted you to call or shove. At this point, it might be better to lay it down, and keep your nice size stack and move on to the next hand. No need to get in a huge confrontation with an even bigger stack with 15 people left. I wouldn't be willing to risk it all on a flush draw semi-bluff.

I'm interested in how this turned out. Let me know.

i lost my best chance to take down this tourney( 10k first place prize) even if my stack was sooo healthy/ competitive at the time
he hit the boat on the turn and trapped me that way. Also, i still hit my river flush , ironically. Anyways, i really learned a valuable lesson from this hand, which means you should NEVER run outtrageous bluffing on the FT bubble over another big stack who could end your tourney life.

    Results oriented.

I hope that's not the lesson you learned, because it will make it much harder to win a tourney if you apply it.

i should've said " we should less than likely run some huge bluffing over another big stack" . Anyways, i still made $360, not bad for a freeroll.

    Concentrate on winning.

Oftentimes you need to fight the big stacks to get the big stack. I agree you need to pick your spots, but just avoiding the big stack will often mean that you let him run over you as well.

If opp ended with trips here and you hit your flush on the river you likely could have been talking about this as the hand that got you 10k on a freeroll. It didn't, which is why I am saying you're being results oriented.
