Someone posted in the BC regarding the hand of the day seen on the front page, so I thought I'd bring to admin attention. Are the hands chosen at random? Is there any way for someone to choose which hand is shown?

it sounds good, but who picks a hand everyday. From what collection does said person draw?

I guess you could build filters to only pic hands where some criterion is met (i.e. hero goes all-in, hero 3bets, hero calls 3bet, etc). But that would require a mod which X is usually against. Although this could be cool because you could change the criterion every month.

We might as well steal liquidpoker.com 's format on this, it's pretty much the only reason I visit the site anyways.

i was going to post this a few days ago but never got around to it. I think having a hand of the day is a good idea, but if we are going to have it can we atleast post some semi interesting hands? The last few times ive looked at it its been a hand where like Hero is BB and it checks around to him, he checks, sees a flop and c/f's. Or Hero raises in LP, cbets the flop and takes it down. I know there are plenty of interesting hands from past posts that we could put up.

The hands are chosen programmatically. Currently, I believe they're picked randomly from the pool of PokerStars hands. We could probably force many types of criteria on the selection, if we can program an algorithm, but Eric would have to chime in on what's actually possible. We'd be interested in hearing what you think.

The hand of the day is random. One potential problem with having someone choose it is that we'll see the same hand day after day if the person assigned to make the choice doesn't update it.
