Default T9s flops FD in the BB ($27)

UTG's stats were 20/10. He was a serial high blind limper. Button's stats were 37/8, he is a seriously losing player (like -26% ROI, -$20k over 2000 tourneys).

What's your flop move? Shove it right here or try to C-R all-in?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 no antes (5 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    UTG (t3240)
    MP (t4055)
    Button (t3290)
    SB (t1265)
    Hero (t1650)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T, 9.
UTG calls t200, 1 fold, Button calls t200, 1 fold, Hero checks.

    Flop: (t700) 2, 7, 3 (3 players)
    Hero ????

Either bet/call or check/shove depending on how frisky they play the button.

i like bet/call better. you have a lot of fold equity on a flop like this and i dont want it checked around only to see a non-club face card on turn

If you're playing the same kind of players I am that fit those kind of ranges, I bet/call, mainly because they are calling and raising with A-5 off and are on the straight draw. But again, I tend to be a bit weird

OK, I checked with the intention of check-raising, and this is what happened - I think I lost my FE by not just open shoving the flop. Guess I wasn't counting on the flop overbet by the button limper.

    Flop: (t700) 2, 7, 3 (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, Button bets t800, Hero raises to t1450

Can someone explain to me why you would open shove this flop as opposed to lead/calling or lead/shove turn? It seems to me like leading normally might actually give you more fold equity than just open shoving

    ie:

Button has 66 and will call an open shove.

Button has 66 and will call a flop bet of 450 but will fold to a second barrel.

That might be completely off but to me to open shoving in situations like this is almost always a drawing/marginal hand. IMO leading and shoving turn actually looks like you might have flopped tptk, 2 pair or set

I see your point, but I think the reason to shove here is the size of our remaining stack compared to the size of the pot. If we bet 450 and get called, the pot will be 1600 and we will have 1000 behind, meaning that opp is getting 2.6 to 1 to call a turn shove.

Plus if our plan is to C-R all in, we may well lose our FE if opp bets around pot size since he'll be getting huge odds to call our shove.

I would definitly bet this flop, I am not sure pushing beats betting 2/3 of the pot

    I hate pushing here.
Mix it up between Check raising all in and lead/call.
