I'm sure I played this too weak but couldn't know what to do here.. I could've re-raised pre but decided to play for set value.. Then I thought he was bluffing but couldn't call or raise because I've already made up my mind for set or no bet

Personally I would shove back in his face. There are only 5 hands that you really fear here, if he has then then so be it.
