AKo to 13x BB raise level 2 ($27)

Default AKo to 13x BB raise level 2 ($27)

This is 8th hand. The only read I have is that opp cold called a 15x BB UTG raise a few hands ago then folded to a flop shove (ie. there's a good chance he's a donk).

    What to do here?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    SB (t1470)
    BB (t1840)
    UTG (t1350)
    UTG+1 (t2590)
    MP1 (t1440)
    MP2 (t1410)
    CO (t1900)
    Hero (t1500)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, K.
UTG raises to t390, 4 folds, Hero ????

This is so often a PP. Those are the nuts to someone who raises like this, so he wont fold and you'll be flipping.

Does A2o count as a PP?

I ran this in SNG Wiz, if he opens 66-JJ, ATs+, AJo+ and never folds to a shove over this is +0.9% EV.

I push this.. you only fear AA or KK which I think we can exclude since he wouldn't raise 390 with them.. You are at worst flipping against other hands and you are the aggressor so he can fold too.. I'd never fold..

Tai, as villain is donk, you cannot discount QQ+.

I disagree. Most donks try to slow play their big PP's because they want action. These bets against donks scream "PLEASE DON'T CALL ME".

    Omg.

Well, thats why I said so often and not always. I guess this is one of the exceptions. If you're fairly sure he's this bad then obviously you shove over all day. It depends on how many hands other than PPs you can put into his range obviously.

The fact that he cold called a 15x BB preflop raise then folded to a flop open shove is the reason why I thought he was bad enough to be pulling this move with a range of hands I was far enough ahead of to make a shove over +EV.

Again, I could put that 15xBB call as a PP that missed a set also. Nice read.

Why not just call if we've already seen him fold on the flop after calling this large of a raise? On the flop we can shove if checked to and fold to a shove if we don't flop top pair. I would also guess he imagine he had AK when he called the large raise earlier. (unless the flop came A or K high)

I am not going to call off 25% of my stack when we only hit an A or K on the flop 1 time in 3. Plus, if he does have a lower PP then I want to see all 5 cards to get ful value, and it is not totally inconceivable that he folds if I shove over.

Seems like he is more likely to fold an under pair to the board on the flop than he is to fold it preflop. I'm saying we shove any flop that he checks to us, unless you think it's unlikely that he checks to us. You said that he folded on the flop after calling a similar bet before, that's just what I'm going on.

I'm just asking though, not giving advice.

This isn't a bad line, but by not shoving over preflop we risk letting opp see a flop and beat us (eg. if he has something like A8 and the flop comes 8xx), and also we don't give him the chance to fold (however small that might be).
