You pretty much show weakness here so villain can push the river with a lot of hands (mainly because he's a good regular). However, if there was an history between the two of you he could think you think he's bluffing and you'll call your stack with AQ here and get the lost value for his set.

villain has either QQ or 54

My calling range consists of those two hands.

As ridiculous a range as this is, if you really put him on {QQ, 54} shouldn't you be folding QQ?

I'd be very tempted to call with AQ and overpairs because checking behind the turn just doesn't make sense with any hand that beats us. But in the heat of the moment I'd probably go all nitty and only call with sets.

yeah, i dump any pair hand in this spot. River heavy action normally means business!!

we rep a tp hand, perhaps even a set.
Is opponent good enough to shove here knowing you cant make a call with a tp hand for that money or is he simply going to be pushing a better hand, in which case 222 is not much difference from AQ anyway.

we only beat a bluff and 76, which makes it a fold for me versus the hands opp likely has.

Middle set here is ohhhhh so much tougher to play IMO

I would be very surprised to see 2 pair here.

Would he play 88-JJ like this?

I call 22 here against all but the most nitty/passive of players.

This is EXACTLY why I don't like raising 22-55 UTG in these games.
