Default 3/6 simple spot vs bfl4me.

bfl4ame is a semi laggy player at 3/6 who is adjusting his game throughout sessions. He goes through spurts where he 3-bets and 4-bets like an absolute monkey and other times where he doesn't do it at all. He also is very aggro postflop.

Earlier in the session i has 3-bet him twice and twice in a row he 4-bet, one time 3x my raise and the other time shoving. Both times i folded. Then i picked up AA, he raised utg, I 3-bet him from the BB when folded to and he insta-insta shoved QQ. Since then he had folded to my 4-5 3-bets over an hour or so period on two tables (it was definitely a noticeable amount).

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $6 BB (4 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    Button ($914.30)
    SB ($987.05)
    Hero ($958.80)
    UTG ($595)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, Q.
2 folds, SB raises to $27, Hero raises to $78, SB raises to $213

whoa didn't realize it was 4-handed... there were two peops sitting i guess.

If he's smart at this point he's probably adjusted his fourbet range to like JJ+, AK+ only and started raising less in pos so I'd probably just muck it. Shoving isn't bad though i guess.

If he's tightened up for the last while, I'd imagine he could actually be waiting for a hand here.

I feel like I shove in this spot so often, and I always run into AK or better.

I don't mind just folding here. You're somewhat deep as well. I'd rather be the one 4-betting him with AQs than be facing the 4-bet with AQs.

What about a call here getting over 2.2:1 deep stacked IP in a blind battle vs LAG with AQs? It's gotta be close...

I was actually gonna suggest this too, but the predominant reason I would do this would be if i thought I could get AK to fold. I think if he makes a cont bet, he'll be committed to call any shove with AK even.

pot on flop $416, stacks behind $750ish
villain bets around $300 on whiffed flop and hero pushes
villain is getting about 4:1 on the call

I don't mind calling if its a bit deeper and he could fold to a shove on the flop. I also don't mind calling if villain will check all rag flops in this spot, assuming we must have called with a good pair.

he isn't the type of guy to check a rag flop here at all. He's very spewy aggro.

he shouldnt make a committing bet with any hand in his range on a rag flop; this way he can fold to a shove when he has nothing and leave the tough decisions to his opponent.

150BB deep I wouldn't stack off with AQ. With aggro history like you have, I would stack off for 100BB. I would probably fold. He is quite aggressive postflop, so I think calling a 4bet is spew against aggressive player. It is not terrible though.

Is calling gonna be profitable if villain is so aggro that he's gonna fire almost all flops and we're likely gonna miss most flops?

I'm not even sure how thrilled we are to be stacking on a Q high flop this deep.

All options are prob close to the same EV.

I would lean towards a call.

theres no way hes firing all flops when u cold call his 4bet, theres just no way.

so when the flop comes like Q hi J hi T hi u can bluff some, when it comes A hi u can call down, when it comes Q hi u can call down, when it blanks u can check it down some and bluff some turns right?

knowing bfl4me as well as i do ... probably better than anyone here ... (plus the fact that he 24 tables). i probably wouldnt fold AQs to him ever, and there's a high probability i would play AQ high for value on a lot of low flops, 150bb deep w/ no problem. if i paired up, id play it 200bb deep for value vs him.

Marshall you always get pwned because you're a terrible player and spew like a moron. I think you and Nutsinho should play like 10/20 HU and you'll be pwned cos Nutsinho is the best.

I wouldn't fold AQ to him also, but we have really aggro spewy history. I don't fold to him and he doesn't fold to me, but we still bluff each other like crazy. But blf4me is smart enough not to do crazy plays without history.

Polarize your 3-betting range against players who are capable of 4-bet bluffing. Against abc guys you can 3-bet for value and "information".

    I don't really follow....

If we have AQs against a super aggressive player preflop, don't we have the near nuts in this spot?
