you make it sound like if something is legal it probably is unethical, and it is the other way around. i believe that if i were told someone were doing something (i dont know what it is), and i was told they have a permit to do so, i would have to guess that it is "ethical" , as opposed to "unethical".
why are you making this general when its very specific?
however, when you get into ethics or morality, anybody who has taken any sort of philosophy would agree that people all across the world have different ideas of what is moral and immoral. there are a lot of disagreements on what is moral in america (e.g. abortion, euthanasia), but everyone would agree on a lot of things being immoral, like sacrificing babies or murder. the point is, our value system is a reflection of our culture, and in our culture, no one frowns upon having mummies in museums and what not. but its not just our culture, its every culture. as far as i know, there arent any cultures in the world that see this as sick or demented. if im wrong, please provide me with a link showing that some decent sized culture thinks putting mummies in museums is evil.
right and this is because modern people are emotionally and culturally detached from these ancient peoples. But this does not mean it makes an ounce of sense. Almost anyone would be appalled if they were presented with the idea of their loved ones being the targets of archaeologists in a couple hundred years. So yes this is that status quo, but no it is not logical nor is it a concrete truth.

i think its kind of ironic that morality is kind of the cornerstone of this thread.[/quote]
why do you find this ironic? Because the morality presented isnt in line with the status quo? Free your mind homie.
