Slow Playing vs Playing Level
Hi Everyone, this is a general question, something I think I've noticed a trend in, but may have been totally obvious to everyone but me.
At the $1 and $2 SNG level hardly anyone slow plays AA or KK, it seems they are all so excited to get their money in they bet 5x BB or more pre-flop regularly. This is often a great tell... and you know when to avoid them.
I've moved up to the $5 level on FTP... now I'm seeing slow playing of AA a LOT. Last night I saw it twice within the same game, a total of about 6 times last night. It seems that everyone with AA wants to do what may be right or may not be, trying to extract value with flat calls and check/calls...
So I guess my question is, do you see a marked increase in slow plays as your skill level/entry fee increases?
Follow up question... do you as a player tend to bet more x bb with lower entry pairs than AA or do you bet all opening hands the same (for example 3.5xBB for 88 - AA, or 5xbb for 88-JJ then 3xBB for QQ-AA)?
The follow up question comes from reading Harrington, if I interpret it correctly he states there is value in betting higher with lower pairs, that you isolate further and give the impression of a better hand... your thoughts?
